Affiliate marketing is a very large industry and has become a key source of online income for many thousands of influencers. So what’s the best affiliate marketing program for hair and beauty products? There are multiple factors to consider from what percentage is paid to influencers to whether the brand’s image and message will resonate with your sphere of influence.
A Couple of Things to Look For-
The percentage is the most basic and probably the most relevant to most people’s bank accounts. Typically merchants will offer between 5% and 15% (Some like Reform Beauty’s even pay 20%!) commission on any purchases that an influencer can drive. Most will have a good affiliate platform that will track the commissions automatically and pay out on a set schedule.
Another detail to look for is cookie lifetime. Cookie lifetime refers to how long your link will continue to link back to you and pay your commission. For example, if a company offers a 7-day cookie lifetime if one of your readers clicks on your link eight days later, you wouldn’t get credit. In general it’s nice to have a longer cookie lifetime, but a short lifetime isn’t necessarily a deal breaker.
One thing that is sometimes overlooked is brand image alignment. Making sure that the brand your representing is in alignment with your and your audience’s style and values. Be sure to look into the brand and make sure that they aren’t engaged in unscrupulous business practices or branding that will alienate you from your audience. Finding out that a company that you’ve been endorsing to animal lovers is testing on animals can really damage the trust you’ve worked so hard to build with your followers.
Good luck and don’t spend all your extra cash in one place LOL!
